Heidsee Watercolour

The Heidsee is situated in Lenzerheide, where I spent my summer holiday. Lenzerheide lies in a beautiful high mountain valley in Switzerland and is mostly popular with Swiss, German and Dutch tourists. The lake showed strong reflections that day, which I captured with my camera to paint from back home.

Watercolour of Heidsee, 30cm x 40cm

    1. Thank you Sharon; yes, you would like this place, seeing as you like rambling. There are lots of mountains, too, the Parpaner Rothorn being more than 11,500 ft high. That's a bit too high for me, though, I prefer to admire the view from lower down.

  3. We hope to be pending some lovely time in Switzerland over the next year or two. We were amazed by how lovely the weather is during the Summer in fact at times it has been very hot this year. Your painting looks wonderful and you have captured some wonderful light and I love the palette!!

  4. Thanks for the lovely comment, Judith; yes, Switzerland can be really hot in summer and the weather tends to be less changeable than here in the UK. I am sure you will enjoy exploring more of Switzerland, it's such a varied country. I visit often to catch up with family and hubby and me like to have our summer holidays in the alps.
